At HealthGauge, we believe your health and personal activity data belong exclusively to you. This Privacy Policy outlines how HealthGauge ("we," "our," or "the App") interacts with your health data, device resources, and personal information.

1. Data Collection and Usage

HealthGauge is designed as a privacy-first, local health tracking tool.

• Apple HealthKit Data: If permitted, HealthGauge reads health and fitness metrics directly from your Apple Health repository via HealthKit. This data is used solely to generate your personal health gauge dashboard, calculate metric comparisons, and render progress trends.

• No Server Collection: We do not collect, store, transmit, or process your health metrics or personal information on external servers. All calculations and metric processing happen entirely on your local device.

• No Analytics or Tracking: We do not incorporate third-party analytics SDKs, advertising trackers, or telemetry tools inside HealthGauge.

2. Apple HealthKit Integration

HealthGauge requests read-only access to specific HealthKit metric types based on the dashboard options you select.

• Explicit Authorization: HealthKit access requires your explicit permission via Apple’s system consent dialogs.

• Granular Control: You can grant, modify, or revoke HealthGauge’s access to any or all HealthKit data points at any time through iOS System Settings under Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > HealthGauge.

• HealthKit Constraints: In compliance with Apple HealthKit Developer Guidelines, data accessed via HealthKit is never used for marketing, advertising, profiling, or sold to data brokers.

3. Local Data Storage & Syncing

• On-Device Storage: Your dashboard layout preferences, tracked metric selections, and metric goals are stored locally on your device using local app storage (UserDefaults).

• Apple Watch Syncing: If you use HealthGauge alongside an Apple Watch, configuration payload data (such as metric ordering and goal settings) is transmitted directly between your paired iOS device and Apple Watch using Apple’s secure WatchConnectivity framework.

4. Data Retention and Control

• Deleting App Data: Because all dashboard configuration data is stored locally on your device, deleting the HealthGauge app will remove all locally stored app preferences and configurations.

• Managing Health Data: HealthGauge does not store raw HealthKit records inside its own local database. Your underlying health records remain stored securely in your system Apple Health store and can be managed directly via the iOS Health app.

5. Children’s Privacy

HealthGauge does not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children. Because all processing occurs locally on your device without user account creation or network transmission, no personal data from any user is gathered.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect app updates or legal requirements. Any modifications will be reflected by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy.

Welcome to HealthGauge. By downloading, installing, or using the HealthGauge application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App.

Medical Disclaimer: HealthGauge is an informational utility for personal tracking. It is not a medical device, does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and should never replace professional medical judgment.

1. Purpose & Health Data Disclaimer

HealthGauge reads and visualizes data provided through Apple HealthKit to assist you in tracking fitness and wellness goals.

• Informational Use Only: All metrics, trend lines, progress rings, and calculations rendered within HealthGauge are for personal reference and informational purposes only.

• Consult a Professional: Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider regarding medical conditions, fitness regimens, or health goals. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of information displayed in the App.

• No Emergency Use: HealthGauge is not designed for critical monitoring or medical emergencies. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call emergency services immediately.

2. License & Use of the App

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install, and use HealthGauge on personal iOS or watchOS devices that you own or control.

You agree not to:

• Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the App source code or architecture.

• Use the App in any manner that violates local, state, national, or international laws or regulations.

• Rent, lease, lend, sell, redistribute, or sublicense the App.

3. Apple HealthKit & Device Requirements

HealthGauge relies on Apple HealthKit APIs and device hardware to display metric data.

• System Permissions: Full functionality requires granting access to specific HealthKit permissions. You may revoke or modify permissions at any time via system settings, though doing so may disable relevant dashboard features.

• Device Compatibility: HealthGauge is provided "as is" and functionality depends on the performance, availability, and accuracy of your device, sensors, and the underlying Apple Health store.

4. Intellectual Property

All rights, titles, and interests in and to HealthGauge—including graphics, source code, user interface design, logos, and custom layout systems—are and will remain the exclusive property of the app developer. Apple, Apple Health, HealthKit, and Apple Watch are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, HEALTHGAUGE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, ACCURATE, OR THAT DATA DISCARDED OR PROCESSED ON-DEVICE WILL ALWAYS BE CORRECTLY CALCULATED.

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, HEALTH IMPACTS, OR PERSONAL INJURY ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE HEALTHGAUGE.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated versions will be posted with an updated "Effective Date." Continued use of HealthGauge following any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
